Quality Control Executive
About This Role
A-Square Group is seeking a Quality Control Executive – MEP Design to act as the final quality gatekeeper between the design team and the client. You will ensure that all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting and ELV design deliverables meet internal benchmarks, international standards, statutory regulations, and client requirements before every submission.
This role demands strong technical expertise, a meticulous eye for detail, deep familiarity with international codes, and the ability to systematically audit drawings, calculations, BOQs, and technical reports across all project phases.
Core Responsibilities
- Review all MEP drawings (Concept, Schematic, Detailed Design, GFC, As-Built) before client submission
- Verify compliance with project brief, approved DBR, client specifications and statutory requirements
- Cross-check design calculations — load calculations, pump sizing, HVAC heat load, cable sizing, transformer sizing, STP/WTP sizing
- Validate BOQs for technical correctness and completeness
- Ensure coordination between Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire systems
- Conduct clash detection review (BIM models) prior to issue
- Ensure compliance with NBC, IS Standards, IEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC/UPC and local fire authority norms
- Continuously research and document updates in global design standards
- Maintain a centralized database of latest codes, design checklists and compliance matrices
- Ensure all deliverables reflect current statutory and global best practices
- Develop and implement structured QC checklists for each design stage — Concept, Schematic, Detailed Design, GFC and Tender
- Establish a mandatory internal review system before every submission
- Coordinate with discipline heads for technical clarifications
- Ensure drawings are properly named, dated, version-controlled and documented
- Maintain revision control log and track submission timelines
- Ensure correct drawing scales, legends, symbols, layer standards and title blocks
- Validate submission packages — drawings, calculations, BOQ and technical specs
- Maintain QC approval record for every issued submission
- Identify potential design gaps or risk areas and highlight non-compliance before submission
- Conduct random audits on ongoing projects
- Create root cause analysis reports for recurring design errors
- Suggest corrective and preventive measures
- Work closely with Project Managers, Principal Consultants, Discipline Heads and the BIM Team
- Conduct internal technical review meetings
- Guide junior engineers on quality standards and support team in improving detailing quality
- Research international best practices in MEP design and benchmark against global consulting firms
- Propose design optimization techniques and introduce standard templates and design libraries
- Conduct internal technical knowledge sessions quarterly

Monthly audit of ≥2 live projects; audit report submitted to management with recommendations
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM) and Navisworks
- Strong understanding of load calculations and system sizing
- Familiarity with NBC, IS, IEC, ASHRAE, NFPA and other international codes

Ideal Candidate Profile
- 1–2 years of experience in MEP design
- Experience on high-rise residential, commercial, mall or institutional projects
- Strong working knowledge of Indian and international design standards
